The Story of Qwen: Alibaba's AI Models From 7B to 2.4T
Alibaba unveiled its Tongyi Qianwen chatbot in April 2023 and began releasing open-weight models with Qwen-7B in August 2023. Over three and a half years, the Qwen family grew to the 2.4-trillion-parameter open-weight Qwen3.8-2.4T-A95B. The company said Qwen 4 is now in training, with 5-10 trillion parameter versions planned.
