SK hynix to put custom tiny CPU cores in its SSD controllers: the H-TPU
SK hynix plans to use its own small cores, called H-TPU, in SSD controllers to ease the load on Arm cores. The company says these cores draw about 2.5% of a general-purpose CPU core's power and take up around 4% of its area. The plan is to roll the design across its NAND products, including next-gen enterprise SSD controllers.
