Muse moves to the center
On Wednesday night's quarterly earnings call, Mark Zuckerberg tied Meta's future to Muse, the personal AI agent the company released to the general public last month. According to Zuckerberg, this is only the beginning; Muse is becoming the core of Meta's product strategy.
Agents talking to agents
In Zuckerberg's picture, users will hand shopping, tasks and communication to AI agents acting on their behalf. Those agents will talk directly to other people's agents to get things done, meaning more of our interactions will run through bot proxies.
Early days, big claims
Meta opened Muse to the public just last month, so it is still early. Still, the scenario Zuckerberg pitched to investors describes a future where much of daily life is coordinated through agent networks. How fast the company pours resources into that vision will be one of the most watched questions in the coming quarters.
