OpenAI has made its decision-focused model available worldwide. With the move, the company enters direct competition with Jev, the established name in this category.
What a decision model does
Decision models focus on choosing among options and setting a course of action rather than just generating an answer. That sets them apart from standard chat models.
Why the competition matters
Jev is seen as the early mover in this category. OpenAI opening its model to broad use could speed up adoption of decision models in enterprise settings.
OpenAI has not yet shared extensive details on the model's technical specifications or access terms. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
