Production target announced
The Turkish Armed Forces plans to significantly expand its production capacity for unmanned systems. Chief of the General Staff Gen. Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu said the goal is 5 million kamikaze systems in five years and a total of 10 million in ten years.
Where it was said
The announcement came at the International Best Military Drone Team Competition (BIMDTC-2026), organized for the first time by the Land Forces Command. The event took place in the Temelli area of Ankara on October 24, 2026.
What is a kamikaze drone?
Kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles are single-use systems that destroy themselves upon reaching a target. Their low cost and suitability for mass production have made them a growing focus of defense planning in recent years.
