Production done, testing begins

Turkey's first lunar spacecraft, developed under the Lunar Research Program, has entered a critical pre-launch testing phase. Turkish Space Agency (TUA) President Yusuf Kıraç said the vehicle is ready.

What was said?

According to the report, Kıraç stated that production and integration work on the spacecraft has been completed. Environmental tests are being carried out at the Space Systems Integration and Test center within TUSAŞ. These tests aim to verify the vehicle's resilience to launch and space conditions.

Target: 2027

Kıraç said they aim to reach the Moon in the first half of 2027. This timeline stands out as the most concrete date set for Turkey's first lunar mission.

Why it matters

The lunar mission is critical for demonstrating Turkey's capabilities in space technologies. Passing the tests and keeping the launch schedule will also be decisive for the program's later stages.
