Conversational shopping in İşCep

İş Bankası has integrated a shopping agent into İşCep that lets users describe what they need in natural language. Speaking at Webrazzi Summit 2026, Deputy General Manager Sezgin Lüle said the agent runs on Pazarama infrastructure and suggests products based on details such as color or the intended use.

According to Lüle, the experience is still in testing. The bank aims to combine product discovery, adding to cart and payment into one flow, while acknowledging that user habits have not yet formed.

Payment moves into the shopping flow

Lüle said one of the sector's priorities is embedding the payment step inside the shopping experience. In the future, users could assign virtual or supplementary cards to shopping agents to carry out transactions. It is still unclear whether banks, e-commerce platforms or AI companies will lead this shift.

Maximum and payment habits

The session also covered Maximum's scale: 12 million customers, more than 600,000 partner merchants and partnerships with over 35 leading Turkish brands. The revamped Maximum Mobil app, launched in the brand's 25th year, simplifies card transactions, campaigns and the transition to shopping.

According to Lüle's data, nine out of every 10 transactions in Turkey are contactless, but users still mostly tap physical cards on POS terminals. QR accounts for roughly 10 percent of total payment volume, while mobile contactless use remains limited.

Stablecoins and security

Lüle said stablecoins are gaining importance, especially for international money transfers and alternative payment infrastructure, and that İş Bankası is taking part in international consortium work on the topic. On security, he stressed that investment in fighting phishing and fraud must keep pace: handing shopping authority to AI agents depends on that trust.

Why it matters

Turkish banking apps are moving into AI-agent-driven shopping; the shift in payment habits and the security debate matter to a broad audience.
