Sixth satellite in orbit
Fergani Uzay's FRG-100D4 satellite has settled into its orbit at an altitude of 590 kilometers. Weighing around 160 kilograms, the satellite is the sixth step in the company's Uluğ Bey program.
Target: a network of more than 200 satellites
Fergani's work is part of Turkey's goal of a navigation network made up of more than 200 satellites. The network aims to reduce dependence on foreign systems for positioning infrastructure.
Why it matters
Navigation satellites provide location data across a wide range of areas, from mapping and logistics to autonomous vehicles. A domestic constellation aims to produce this data without relying on foreign systems.
Fergani plans to expand the network's coverage by increasing the number of satellites. The company will continue advancing the program with new launches.
