What happened

Dallas-based venture capital firm Disruptive has closed a $10bn fund to invest in AI, defence and software startups, Bloomberg reported.

Where the money goes

The fund roughly doubles the assets Disruptive manages. The firm plans to back about 10 late-stage companies, putting around $1bn into each. Most of the capital is expected to go into new funding.

Why it matters

AI and defence technology have become major draws for large investors. Raising $10bn in a single fund shows the scale of capital flowing into these areas, and investments of this size in late-stage companies could shape valuations across the sector.
