14-inch model moves to M6
Apple has updated the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip. This marks a shift to the next generation of the company's own Apple Silicon processors.
16-inch model left behind
The same update did not reach the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The larger model continues to ship with the previous-generation M5 chip.
What it means
Leaving a chip-generation gap between the two models suggests Apple is following a staged transition across its product line. Details on the M6's performance and efficiency claims are not included in the source material.
