Deadly Intel Fab 28 explosion to cost $600 million and disrupt server chip output
An explosion at Intel's Fab 28 in Kiryat Gat, Israel, in mid-October killed two people and seriously injured one, forcing a roughly two-week shutdown. Intel expects about $600 million in lost revenue across Q4 2026 and Q1 2027, with 10nm-class server processor shipments disrupted for around six months.
