A new display, a familiar body
At its October 2026 "Pro and Tell" event, Apple introduced 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. Their standout feature is the PROLED XDR display, a Tandem OLED panel with full touch support. With this, Apple officially brings touchscreens to the Mac laptop line.
Lighter, with the logo back
The new chassis is somewhat lighter, and the glowing Apple logo that was dropped years ago has returned. These are touches that do not overhaul the design but are noticeable in daily use.
An M6 14-inch model too
Alongside the touchscreen models, Apple updated the 14-inch MacBook Pro with its M6 chip. Wireless connectivity has been improved, but beyond performance gains there are no major new features compared with the previous generation. This is an evolutionary update.
Preorders and pricing
The source reports that the new MacBook Pros are available for preorder but does not share pricing or delivery dates. Apple also made other announcements at the event beyond the MacBook updates.
