Study: a 23,000-qubit quantum computer could break banking encryption in three days
French quantum firm Alice & Bob estimates that a quantum computer with 23,000 qubits would be enough to break RSA-2048 encryption. The company says this threshold could be reachable by the end of the decade. The non-peer-reviewed study urges a faster shift to post-quantum encryption standards.
