Intel to phase out SGX after Xeon Diamond Rapids in favor of TDX
Intel announced it will discontinue support for its Software Guard Extensions (SGX) technology after its upcoming Xeon 'Diamond Rapids' CPUs and focus its confidential computing efforts on Trust Domain Extensions (TDX). Existing SGX-enabled platforms will be supported into the early 2030s, while TDX gains trusted I/O, post-quantum cryptography and enhanced attestation.
