FCC issues first two device bans in the US under new chip-level rule
The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has for the first time enforced its new chip-level rule, blocking the sale of a dashboard camera and a wireless video transmitter in the US. The ban stems from the HiSilicon Hi3516CV610 smart vision chip they contain, which features face-detection algorithms and belongs to Huawei subsidiary HiSilicon.
