iPhone Duo officially announced
Apple has unveiled the iPhone Duo, its long-rumored foldable phone. The device offers a 5.4-inch display when closed and a 7.6-inch display when open. The inner screen has a "nano-texture" finish and a barely visible crease.
Design and security
Apple dropped Face ID for this model and moved to Touch ID built into the power button. The phone has two cameras: a main lens and a wide-angle lens. It also features a flashy opening animation when unfolded.
Software
Apple completely revamped iOS 27's controls and apps for the foldable form factor. The dock, for example, now sits on the side of the phone.
Price and demand
The iPhone Duo isn't cheap: the base 256GB model starts at $1,999, with prices rising from there. Apple described preorder demand as "extraordinary." While the company is late to the foldable game compared to rivals like Samsung and Google, demand appears strong.
