Yandex introduces Sona, a single generative recommender that replaces the whole pipeline
Yandex unveiled Sona, a generative AI model that merges candidate generation and ranking into one system. In a seven-day live A/B test on its smart speakers, it replaced more than 15 candidate generators and the ranking stages with a single served transformer. Yandex detailed the architecture and results in a technical report.
