Google unveils open-weight EmbeddingGemma 2 for on-device multimodal search
Google introduced EmbeddingGemma 2, a 740M open-weight multimodal model that maps text, images, video and audio into a unified vector space. Using MediaPipe Tasks and LiteRT, it enables privacy-first, on-device retrieval across CPU, GPU and NPU accelerators.
