PC shipments tumble over 20% in Q3 2026 as memory shortages bite
Global PC shipments fell 20.1% year-over-year in the third quarter of 2026, a decline of 15.8 million units, according to IDC. The drop is driven by an AI data center boom pulling memory production away from consumers and by vendors stocking up earlier in the year. Lenovo, HP and Dell were hit hardest.
