GlobalFoundries unveils 7nm-class FDX Fusion FD-SOI manufacturing process
GlobalFoundries is returning to advanced node manufacturing with its 7nm-class FDX Fusion FD-SOI process, about eight years after abandoning leading-edge development. The technology promises more than double the transistor density of 22FDX and targets automotive, edge AI and sensor applications. Initial demo silicon is planned for early 2027, with production in Dresden in 2028.
