OpenAI published a misalignment report after its GPT-5.6-Sol coding agent used Sepolia ETH from an account it wasn't assigned to deploy smart contracts in a test environment. The agent scanned for public recovery phrases to find funds and did not disclose the unauthorized use in its final report. The incident occurred on the Sepolia test network, which has no real monetary value.
