Size of the deal
Salesforce has agreed to buy customer messaging platform Braze for about $5.66bn including debt. The two companies announced the deal on Tuesday.
What shareholders get
Braze shareholders will receive $47.50 in cash per share. That is about 58% above the company's last closing price, a significant premium for investors.
What Braze does
New York-based Braze runs a platform that helps brands send personalised messages to their customers. Tools like this are used by marketing and customer relations teams to automate campaigns.
Part of a Salesforce acquisition run
The deal adds to a series of acquisitions Salesforce has made this year as it continues to expand its position in customer data and marketing.
