Direct model access for scientists

Google DeepMind and Google Cloud have launched a program to accelerate scientific research in Europe. Under the program, up to 200 leading European scientists will get direct access to Google's frontier AI models.

$3 million in compute support

Beyond model access, the company will provide researchers with $3 million in compute. This lets scientists run large-scale AI experiments without building their own infrastructure.

Why it matters

Frontier models are typically reserved for the resources of large tech companies. This program aims to make it easier for European researchers to apply these models to their own scientific problems. In doing so, Google strengthens its ties with Europe's research ecosystem and expands the scientific use cases for its models.
