A new accessibility-focused feature for Gemini Live
Google has added a feature called Guided Vision to its Gemini Live app. It is designed to provide real-time visual assistance for blind and low-vision users.
Built with the community
According to the company, Guided Vision was developed alongside members of the blind and low-vision community. The goal is to shape the feature around real-world needs.
What it means
Gemini Live lets users have live conversations with AI through camera and microphone. Guided Vision adds a layer that verbally interprets visual information from the surroundings.
Google shared the announcement in a blog post dated October 1, 2026. The company did not provide further details on rollout timing or supported devices.
