Demand outpaces supply
Dutch chip equipment maker ASML said its current supply plans will not be enough to fully meet demand for its machines in 2027 and 2028. According to the company, some customers are already looking to place orders for delivery in 2029 and 2030.
2026 guidance raised
ASML raised the low end of its 2026 sales guidance. Its shares rose 2.8% after the announcement.
Why it matters
ASML is the world's largest supplier of lithography machines used to make advanced chips. As demand for chips for AI data centers grows, so does the need for these machines; a supply limit directly affects chipmakers' capacity plans.
