A new open-weights image model

Black Forest Labs has released FLUX 3 Image Klein, a new image model with 5.6 billion parameters whose weights are shared openly.

Smaller than its predecessor

According to the company, the model has 38 percent fewer parameters than its predecessor. Despite this, Black Forest Labs says it outperforms proprietary competitors in its internal tests.

Why it matters

The 8 GB VRAM requirement makes the model accessible to users without high-end hardware. The open-weights release also allows developers and researchers to run and adapt the model on their own systems.
