TB2 becomes a carrier platform

Baykar announced a test flight in which its Bayraktar TB2 unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) carried 16 Skydagger FPV kamikaze drones. The test began at the Keşan Flight Training and Test Center, with the TB2 transporting the drones to the test site.

At the site, two FPV drones were released from the TB2. Controlled by operators independent of the ground through a link established via the TB2, the drones struck designated targets with precision.

Why it matters

FPV (first-person view) drones have drawn attention in recent conflicts because of their relatively compact size and remote operability. Releasing such small platforms from a larger UCAV opens the possibility of deploying multiple unmanned systems from a single airborne platform.

The test showed that the TB2 can serve not only as a conventional surveillance and strike platform but also as an airborne carrier. According to Baykar, interoperability between different classes of unmanned aircraft, autonomous coordination and secure communications will become more important in future developments.

Export side

Baykar said it remained the world's largest exporter in the unmanned aerial vehicle segment in 2025. The company renewed its own record with an export volume of $2.2 billion in 2025, sustaining leadership it has held for the past three years. Deriving 90% of its revenue from exports, Baykar is a locomotive of Türkiye's high-technology exports.

Why it matters

A concrete test showing where Turkish defense technology stands; a short but notable story for readers curious about how unmanned systems are being linked together.
