A touch-enabled OLED display
Apple's new MacBook Pro models use a touch-enabled OLED panel branded PROLED XDR. The display relies on a tandem OLED structure in which two pixel layers work together, aiming to reduce light bleed when dark areas sit next to bright objects.
The screen offers up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness and a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio in both HDR and SDR content. That is not full-screen sustained brightness, however: Apple lists sustained brightness at up to 1,000 nits. ProMotion varies the refresh rate between 10 and 120 Hz.
Touch input and Dynamic Island
The touch sensor is integrated into the panel. Users can scroll pages, zoom into photos, draw directly on the screen and move 3D objects. Dynamic Island creates a shared space for Spotlight, Live Activities and Siri AI.
