WSJ: OpenAI checked fired researchers' phones for Signal chats
According to The Wall Street Journal, OpenAI examined Signal chats on the phones of three safety researchers it fired last month. One of them, Tomek Korbak, said he was told there had been a "breach of trust" because he interacted with a third party through unsanctioned channels.
