Google speeds protein structure prediction 8.6-fold for targeted cancer research
Google researchers developed a "surgical epitope excision" method that speeds up protein structure prediction by 8.6 times. The approach was used to design molecules that bind tightly to FAP, a protein associated with solid tumors. The work is part of three Google Research projects exploring how AI agents can design biological molecules.
