NVIDIA builds next-gen CPO prototypes that put optics directly on the interposer
NVIDIA researchers presented first prototypes of their next-generation CPO (co-packaged optics) and DWDM technologies for future chips at SEMICON West 2026. The approach moves optical engines from the substrate to the interposer and pushes optical speeds up to 256 Gb/s.
