Valon's new round

US-based Valon has raised $150 million in a Series D round to scale its AI-powered platform for mortgage servicing. Ribbit Capital and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) participated in the round. Founded in 2019, the company's valuation has risen to $2.3 billion.

What is ValonOS?

Valon is building an operating system called ValonOS for mortgage servicers. The platform aims to manage loan data, investor reporting, operational workflows, compliance processes and money transfers from a single place instead of separate systems. The company is also layering AI agents on top of it. These agents can handle operational tasks such as replying to emails from homeowners, distributing payments and running analyses on escrow accounts.

Where the money goes

Valon said it will use the new funding to broaden adoption of ValonOS and its AI agents, speed up product development and grow its teams. The company currently works with servicers responsible for roughly one-sixth of US mortgage loans.

Next target: other loan types

Valon plans to extend its technology to commercial, consumer, auto and student lending in the coming period. The company had previously raised $50 million in February 2021.
