Anthropic's custom AI chip is reported to be manufactured by Samsung. The chip is said to be built on Samsung's 2nm process.

TOPS stands for trillions of operations per second and is commonly used to describe AI accelerator performance. TDP indicates how much power a chip consumes under load.

Why it matters

Anthropic has so far run its models mostly on infrastructure owned by other companies. Designing its own chip could be read as a move toward greater independence on both cost and supply. For Samsung, it would mean landing a major customer for its 2nm process.
