What is Dots?
OpenAI this week introduced Dots, a new agent platform that lets users create AI agents capable of carrying out assigned tasks. The agents have rounded, anthropomorphic avatars and customizable names.
One agent for now
Currently, each user can create only one Dots agent. OpenAI says multiple agents will be available in the future. The interface consists of two sections: a chat window and a separate window to follow the agent's work.
Enterprise focus stands out
Unlike consumer-friendly rivals, Dots is positioned primarily as workplace software. Still, it can handle everyday tasks like ordering food. This makes it a bridge between enterprise and personal use.
