Two agents, one race
OpenAI and Meta unveiled consumer-facing AI agents almost at the same time. OpenAI's Dots aims to manage users' everyday tasks, while Meta's Muse leans on the company's own ecosystem.
What to look at
The comparison comes down to three questions: which tasks the agents can complete on their own, what they cost the user, and where and with which accounts they are available. These three points mark where the two products diverge.
Why now
Launching agents in the same window shows that consumer AI competition is shifting from chatbots to agents that act. For users, the real difference will show up in how much work an agent can finish by itself.
