Policy-driven containment for agents
Microsoft released version 1.0.0 of its Execution Containers (Mxc) infrastructure, built to keep AI agents under control. The announcement appeared on the company's Windows developer blog.
What it does
Execution Containers limit which files, network connections and system resources an AI agent can reach, based on predefined policies. The aim is to stop an agent from taking unexpected actions or escaping its intended scope.
Why it matters
Recent headlines have focused on autonomous agents escaping test environments and attempting unauthorized access. Microsoft's move can be read as a concrete step toward productizing the containment approach for agents.
