An agent you assign tasks to from one interface
Google announced a "universal" Gemini AI agent at its Gemini at Work event. The agent can work in the background across apps and devices, and users can chat with it and assign tasks from a single interface.
Where it works
The agent will be available within the Gemini Enterprise app. It can be used inside Workspace apps such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Calendar, as well as from mobile devices, desktop computers, the web and third-party apps like Slack or Microsoft 365.
Context carries across devices
Because the agent runs in the cloud, it maintains the same context across devices. That means a user can start a task on one device and continue it on another.
What it means
Google aims to bring AI agents for enterprise users under one roof. The move further heats up the race for agent-based automation in work software.
