Aura opens for pre-orders
The transparent XR glasses Aura, developed by Google and Xreal, are now up for pre-order. The entry configuration is priced at $1,279 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A second configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs $1,499.
Going head-to-head with Meta
Aura's starting price is $20 lower than Meta's new VR Glasses. Both devices weigh around 100 grams and were tried by journalists in the San Francisco Bay Area two weeks ago, putting them in direct competition in the same segment.
Open questions
Xreal could not say at publish time whether the 16GB of RAM would matter for certain apps. Details on the pre-order schedule and shipping dates are not included in the source material.
