Manus's first major round after the Meta split

China-based AI startup Manus has closed its first funding round since parting ways with Meta. The company raised more than $500 million in the round.

Who took part

Boyu Capital and IDG Capital led the round. Existing shareholders including Tencent, HSG (formerly Sequoia China) and ZhenFund also participated.

Why it matters

The round, which follows Manus's split from Meta, will be used to finance the company's independent growth plans. It signals that investor appetite for Chinese AI startups remains strong.
