What's changing?
Apple announced an update to the Full Disk Access permission model in macOS. This permission is what allows an app to reach protected locations such as Mail, Messages, Safari data and other system files, and it must be granted manually by the user.
Why it matters
Full Disk Access sits at the center of macOS privacy protections. Any change here affects both how developers request the permission and how much access users grant to individual apps.
