What is Home Collection?
Apple introduced Home Collection, a lineup that brings its smart home products under one roof. The accessories were developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric and were announced alongside HomeView, Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini.
Cameras and lock
LG's camera family consists of four products. The Video Doorbell shows visitors and packages left at the door from two angles: a 2.5K front camera and a Full HD bottom camera. The Floodlight Cam has two lights that turn on when motion is detected and, together with the Outdoor Cam, offers color night vision in low light. The Indoor Cam tilts down and stops recording when a household member returns. The cameras can distinguish people, familiar faces, animals, vehicles and packages. The Smart Deadbolt Lock unlocks automatically when a user carrying a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch approaches; passcode, tap-to-unlock and physical key options are also available.
Temperature and automation
LG and Schneider Electric thermostats adjust temperature based on whether someone is home and on daily routines. Sensors can measure temperature and humidity in different rooms. Shared automations can lock the door, start camera monitoring and adjust the thermostat when the last person leaves.
Privacy, pricing and timing
Apple says personal data is end-to-end encrypted. iCloud+ keeps a 10-day recording history, while eligible subscriptions let Apple Intelligence summarize footage and enable natural-language search. US prices start at $199.95 for the indoor camera, $299.95 for the outdoor camera, $399.95 for the floodlight camera, $249.95 for the video doorbell and $349.95 for the lock; thermostats are $199.95 and sensors $39.95. Sales are set to begin in December, with some accessories available in early 2027. No pricing or release date has been announced for Turkey yet.
