A new door for developers
Apple announced a new initiative for third-party developers around Siri AI. According to the company, any app can now create Siri AI integrations for the first time.
What changes
The first versions of Siri AI were limited to a much smaller set of supported schemas. The new "app skills" approach widens that scope and lets apps teach Siri how to coordinate complicated multi-step actions.
When it arrives
These features will become available as part of iOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and aligned releases, meaning developer access opens alongside the operating system updates.
Why it matters
The move signals a push to turn Siri from an assistant largely tied to Apple's own apps into a platform that works more deeply with third-party software. For developers it opens new integration opportunities; for users it could mean smoother voice-driven task flows across apps.
