Apple's first smart display
Apple has introduced HomeView, its long-awaited smart home display. The device consists of a small, vibrant touchscreen sitting atop a speaker base.
What it does
HomeView is designed for video calls, displaying photos and providing information at a glance through the Siri AI voice assistant. Its square shape makes it feel less imposing than larger smart displays such as Google's Nest Hub Max or Amazon's Echo Show 11.
Colors and placement
The device will come in silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey. It looks suited to a kitchen counter, though it may be a hair too big for a bedside table.
Why it matters
With HomeView, Apple enters the screen-equipped smart home category and puts Siri at the center of the home.
