What is HomeView?
Apple introduced HomeView, its first smart display, positioned at the center of its smart home lineup. According to Engadget's hands-on piece, the device goes beyond being "just an enlarged Apple Watch."
Siri AI takes center stage
The focus of the hands-on is Siri's new AI-powered form. The outlet describes Siri AI as the home's new "roommate," meaning the assistant sits at the heart of in-home use.
Why it matters
Apple's smart home strategy has accelerated recently: a new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini and smart home accessories were all introduced as part of the same push. HomeView aims to bring that ecosystem together on a single screen.
What the first impression says
Engadget's take is brief: the device is not just a bigger watch. Detailed performance and pricing will have to wait for the full review.
